I just have to say, “You’ve gotta love IS (image stabilization)!” I was trying to get some shots of different people around our church for one of the Pastors. So I snapped this image in low light. Granted it is not tack sharp but hey what do you want? I Shot this at 200mm @ 1/6 sec. Yes, 1/6 sec, HAND held!!! Needless to say I am sold. Sure IS will not help if your subject is moving but if they are not I think it works pretty darn good.

So Happy Together
I was looking through some shots I took the other day and really liked this one. For those of you who are fans of the crane style this one was shot using what I call “Crane Takes a Drink and Looks Up” Ha ha ha….in other words I just held the camera low and shot up without looking through the viewfinder. I just happened to look over and saw Fran and Terry and took the chance of trying to capture this moment.
Why I like it so much is that a few years ago Fran was struggling with leukemia. Fran is a very vibrant person and a great athlete so it was hard to see her as the treatments took their toll on her. Fran and Terry were just dating then and I can only imagine how much strain it all must have put on their relationship. During all that time they had a strong faith in God and I believe that was a major factor in helping them through that time.
Fran and Terry are married now, and they both help to head up our communion prayer team. So I love this picture because of the joy in Fran and Terry’s faces and especially in Terry’s as he is looking over at Fran. I know God has that same smile as he looks over both of them.
