  • Rita & Andrew’s Wedding

As I mentioned in my preview, the week leading up to Rita and Andrew’s wedding was terrible for me.  I even missed out on one of my favorite activities which is playing golf.  So you can imagine my anxiety about not being able to make it to Rita & Andrew’s wedding or not being of any use while there.  But I have to say God is good and I actually felt pretty good.

The day was a special one in many ways, of course mostly because I was allowed to share in this intimate and momentous event with Rita & Andrew, but also because I was again able to shoot second for my friend Scott Robert.  In addition, I met and was able to work with Jackie who was there helping and observing Scott.

One of the things I love is when the couple begins to become more comfortable with you and forgets about you.  Those times are when you can begin to see into who they are and how they love one another.  One of my favorite moments was when we were waiting with Andrew.  Scott had finished taking his shots of him and he was waiting for the First Sight Meeting.  During that time Jackie and I tried to keep Andrew loose and in turn were blessed with him sharing how he and Rita met.  It was one of those cute and funny stories that I’m not sure even the movies could come up with.

Well congratulations Rita & Andrew may your new life be filled with many joys and blessings.  Here are some of my shots.  Of course the set up group stuff was put together by Scott but as always I tried to catch the second angle or frame it differently.

As you can see Andrew was pretty relaxed as he told us his story of how he met Rita.

Andrew is a huge turtle fan so you can guess what one of the themes was. Here is one of the table cards.

  • Nice work Eric!! Like that shot with the bridal party. girls pulling on the fellas ties. very fun!

  • Yea! again, very nice! 12, 23,(can’t help but love that hug!) and 28, are my favorites. 32 is my very favorite…I love it!

  • Great job of finding those defining moments – very nice!

  • @tdaddie - Hey T, thanks.  I think that is what I am getting better at.  I was totally inspired by watching this Joe Buissink DVD and seeing how much he searches for those moments and how fast he shoots them.  I of course am not that fast…yet!  =)  I am also trying to work more on the posing stuff.  You know nice to be able to do both.  One day I hope to be as good as you…although I guess I might have to become darker in my PP.  Ha ha ha…

  • Hey Eric,
Glad I got to finally see your images, and they’re really cool! I love the shot of rita and andrew closeup outside too. It was great kinda meeting you on the wedding day, although short since i was in the wedding party. thanks for showing us some of your gear and tips too, i hear very nice things about you. Hopefully we can keep up with each other since i’ll probably be checking back! :)

  • @lizwang - Hey Liz, thanks for the props.  Yeah, I was actually trying to shoot tight on some of the outdoor stuff since I figured that Scott was shooting all the other stuff, so maybe I could grab something different.  You know how it is.  I like the shots you have up on your blog.  I know we did not get to talk too much since you were pretty busy.  I did get to speak more with Timon and thought he is a great guy so guilt by association I will just assume you are very cool too.  =)  Yes, hopefully we can keep up as Timon was sharing what your aspirations are.  Hopefully we can all help one another out at some point.  Talk to you later.
