Far And Away – Lily & Avery’s Wedding (Full Post)
Awhile back I had the chance to trek up to Mendocino to shoot the wedding of Lily & Avery with Junshien. I must say that it was a long drive but well worth every mile. First off the last hour or more of winding roads were a blast and my poor little car that seems to spend way too much time in the back of the garage was able to stretch it’s legs a bit. Once in the quaint little village of Mendocino, the weather was perfect and everyone in the wedding party were getting ready for the big day. The setting was beautiful and Lily & Avery put together one first class event, from the venues to the fantastic food.
As an added bonus we got to work with Stillmotion, they are a video company based out of Canada. Well to be honest sometimes wedding videos can be sort of cheesy but when I saw their same day edit of the wedding I was totally blown away. It was pretty awesome! And they were very cool to work with. It was great shooting with Junshien and since we were so far from home we ended up staying overnight. As a result we got a chance to hang out a bit and talk story about life and photography after our duties were done. Definitely good times.
Congratulations to Lily and Avery, may you have a fantastic life together. And may I say you put on one heck of a party.

Great job Eric!
great images.. all around for some reason..i love the character of teh groom shaving shot:)!! greta catch.. also like the post processing!
I see your growth Eric! Great job!!
@MLyssaD - Hey Lyssa, yeah it was funny with the groom since he was sort of fussing around and then sort of went into the bathroom to shave and there was just something about it. It was like it was his little moment of sanctuary and he was so focused on shaving. So I just sort of popped myself in there and fired off a few shots. So to me as well there is just something in it that is beyond what he is doing. Oh, by the way I have been meaning to tell you your stuff is just so dang sexy…wow!
@nnevva - Thanks Gayle. I think that it is a testament to Scott’s teaching that so may of his students have grown so much. I just love seeing the images when everyone comes back from workshops. Since I have not been able to go to many of them I think I have just really tried to take what he has taught and really work hard in using it each time I get out there and shoot. Hope things are well with you. Keep on shooting.
Thanks again for coming out last minute dude. It was fun shooting with you.
this is really nice set Eric!!
