  • Pumpkin Time

Just a quick post since I have not managed to get anything up lately.  I actually had some allergies kick up and had a migraine for much of the week.  Well here is a shot I took of my Pumpkin climbing on top of one of her pumpkins.  Hope that everyone is having a fun and safe Halloween.  Take care and I should have more up very soon.

  • Lucky Day 8/8/08 - Azarah & Russell's Wedding

Azarah and Russell are just an awesome couple.  I was shooting for Kristian so images are for KI Photography. I knew from the moment I walked into Russell’s place and the groomsmen were joking around and already drinking Red Bulls that this was going to be one wild ride.  And then Azarah and her bridesmaids held up their end too.  So put this all together on the lucky day of 8/8/08 and you have one exciting and hilarious party.  They even had KPIX out to interview them!  I can’t tell you how much fun it was to be part of their special day.

On top of all this I happened to accidentally leave my jacket with their stuff and Azarah and Russell are so nice they totally went out of their way to meet me and give it back.

Congratulations to one fun couple, and thanks to you and your crazy cohorts for really making 8/8/08 a special day!

  • Joyce & Daniel - Rocklin, CA

Okay, I think I am making some headway on getting through all the images I need to post.  Awhile back I took a little jaunt up to Rocklin to shoot the wedding of Joyce and Daniel with Lynn-Kai, so all images are for PLAIN Sight Photography.  Lynn and I met at one of Scott Robert Lim’s workshops.  The day was one full of many little details and happenings.  Lynn and I were running the whole time!  What made it challenging was that it was hot that day.  I swear I almost passed out at one point.  The guys that brought us out some water while we were shooting are my heroes!!

Well here are some of the shots from that day.  Best wishes go out to Joyce and Daniel.  If your lives are as full as your wedding you are in for a great life.

  • Angel Island On Fire

There was a large fire on Angel Island last night.  For those that don’t know what it is, Angel Island is a large island in the San Francisco Bay.  Angel Island is probably best known historically as the detention point for many Chinese immigrants as they tried to enter the United States, much like Ellis Island was for many others.  Therein lays its significance to my family as my Mother passed through there upon her coming here as a young girl. She was lucky since she only had to spend a few days there but others were not as fortunate as they were either kept there for a long time or were denied entry.

Of course the other significance to me is that my friend and I semi got stranded there when we were in Jr. High since we got the ferry times wrong and missed our ferry.  Oops!  Lucky for us we were able to take a ferry to another destination and his parents graciously picked us up from there.  Whew…

Well here are a couple shots that I took from home to let you see how big the fire was.

  • Destination Sonoma - Courtney & Kevin's Wedding

Okay, now that I am back from vacation I am going to make a concerted effort to catch up on all the pictures I have to post.  Some of my schedule is starting to slow down a bit so I think I might have a good chance now.

Awhile back I had the chance to shoot the wedding of Courtney and Kevin.  I was shooting with Kristian so all images are for KI Photography.  As I mentioned in my tease Courtney and Kevin are from Texas but they decided on having a destination wedding. Well they chose a beautiful area in Sonoma.  As it turns out they put together a very nice celebration which was filled with fun loving people and a great venue.  But what really set this wedding apart was the fact that everyone was having a great time but more importantly at those certain moments you could really see the deep feelings and emotions that they all had for one another.

Congratulations to Courtney & Kevin!  All the best in your life together.

  • Back On The Mainland

I know that I have not posted for a couple of weeks so sorry to my handful of readers but I actually went on vacation with my family to Hawaii.  This was pretty momentous as it was the first major trip since my daughter was born.  My wife and I have been to Hawaii a number of times separately and together, but I must say this was a new experience.  We all had a blast but with my daughter not having the best plane trips and not adjusting to the time change until just two days before we came home it was not the most restful of trips.  I am glad that we got to go though and feel so blessed that we had the opportunity.

We would like to especially thank our friend Linda as she went way out of her way to spend time with us and help us out with things that made our trip a success.  Thank you also to her friend who graciously loaned us one of her strollers, it made our life much easier.  Also thanks to our friends the Ross’s who took us out to dinner in the midst of their crazy schedule.

Well here are some shots of my favorite model's first great adventure.

  • Far And Away - Lily & Avery's Wedding (tease)

A couple of weekends ago I made the trek up to Mendocino to shoot second on a wedding with Junshien.  I always knew that it was far away but never realized just how far.  As it ends up it is over 3 hours away for me.  As expected it was beautiful, and the quaint little town of Mendocino made a perfect setting for the wedding of Lily and Avery.  Here is a little teaser; I’ll get up more shots when I get a chance.  Congratulations Lily & Avery.

  • Katie & Matt's Wedding

Awhile back I shot the wedding of Katie and Matt with Brian of Photograph(ng).  The two of them are just good people and a great couple.  A perfect example of this is before the ceremony for some reason it was impossible to bustle Katie’s dress.  Definitely not a good situation and you could feel the tension in the air.  But as easy as it might have been, Katie never lost her temper and remained gracious throughout.

Their wedding was a beautiful and elegant event at the Wente Winery.  What made this event even better was just how much fun all the guests were having.  Something I had never heard or seen before was that someone’s family had a tradition of having a couple/few wine bottles circulating during one particular dance and people were called out to dance and partake from the bottles.  I know it sounds a little bit out of hand but if you witness this you see it is just a time for everyone to have a little fun and be silly.  I will tell you it is just a blast to watch.

Well all the best to Katie and Matt, if their wedding is any indication, their life together will be eventful and full of fun.

  • Serene & Ben Get Married

The other weekend Diana and I attended the wedding of our friends Serene and Ben.  Diana and Serene are sorority sisters back from their Cal days and I even knew Serene as well, but just more of an acquaintance.  Well one day we went to a lunch, I believe for Serene’s Birthday, and suddenly there was this guy Ben.  Funny thing is Diana knew Ben when they were back at Lowell High School.  Well since then there have been many fun times with the two of them and Ben has somewhat become a golfing buddy when we can manage to get out there.

The two of them are such a fun couple that as one might imagine, we were completely delighted when we heard they were going to get married.  Well if you know Serene you know that she is normally crazy with all her arts and crafts, so you just knew her wedding would be over the top.  That put together with their fun loving spirits foretold of an awesome event.  Well they did not disappoint.  Of course some antics by friends just upped the level a bit more.

My good friend Michael Muramoto was providing the professional photography coverage for this event along with Dawn Shields, so I can’t wait to see what they shot.  I just felt a little bad for him, since Mike would have been a guest, since his lovely wife Annie (did I earn some of your delicious baked goods) was one of Serene’s Bridesmaids.  But since he was working he was not able to fully enjoy every aspect of the celebration.  Well here are a few shots I managed to snap off.  Congratulations Serene and Ben here’s wishing you many blessings and a wonderful life together!

I had to take a some shots of the church as Diana and I were married in this same church.

  • Taking A Break

Life has seemed to just been a big blur lately.  With my regular 40 hour a week job, plus our 18 month old daughter, and my having shot 6 weddings within the last 2 months; it is no wonder.  Well we decided to take it easy this past Sunday afternoon.  So we ended up at the zoo.  One of our better investments this year was an annual pass for the zoo.  It is great since I think you only need to visit about 2.5 times and you have made up what you paid.  The pass covers our admission and parking.  What is nice is since we have a pass we can just go and see what we want and just relax…why because we can comeback whenever we want!  Our daughter loves it since she likes seeing the animals and even just hanging out on the grass.  So again we had a good time, and will we be going back?  Why YES, since we can!
