  • Complete Package | Anna's Headshots

A little while back I had to opportunity to shoot some headshots for the CEO of our county hospital.  Talk about a complete package Anna not only is capable and holds a high profile position but is also I think quite an attractive lady as well.  I was not sure what to expect since she does hold such a high position, but Anna was just great!  We were able to have some light hearted fun as we got some good shots of her, although, I have to say it is not hard to get good shots of her.

Well over all it was a great experience and I hope I get to work with Anna again someday.  Here are some images we captured during our session.

At the end of last year I had the great privilege of sharing in Amabelle & Andrew’s special day.I have to say it was one heck of a day too.I met up with them at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel.I have to say I was nicely surprised as I think the last time I was actually in there was before they did their renovation.I just remember that it used to have all this old red carpet and I can’t remember all the details but I have this feeling of it being dark and kind of stodgy.Well that is not the case anymore as it is just spectacular in there and my buddy Steve and I were saying we could shoot in there for days. By the way, thanks Steve for the great assist.

So obviously the day started at a high level and never came down.I just loved this wedding because they had great venues, Ama had this killer dress and was just classically gorgeous, and the whole event was elegant and classic; yet their wedding was also modern.Plus Ama & Andrew are such a fun couple that it was way too much fun.

Here is a slideshow from some of their images.

  • Connie & Wayne | San Francisco Wedding | Preview

The other weekend I had the honor of covering Connie & Wayne's Wedding.  It is always an honor to share my clients special days but there was just something more in this case.  I have known Wayne for many years and as his Best Man Roy shared, Wayne is just one of the most giving people I have ever met.  He is always the first to help out whenever possible and he befriends and helps those who others might not consider and pass over.  Connie as well has a giant heart.  So isn't it fitting that Connie and Wayne came together in part because they served together in our churches Compasion Ministy.  So when they chose me to record their special day I was thrilled to do it.

Well here is a litle preview of the day.  Not only are they big hearted people but they are fun loving too, how much better can it get.  Congratulations Connie & Wayne, I know God will bless you and your new life together.

  • Michael F | Portrait Session - Round II In San Francisco

Last week was sort of a hard one for me.  I know a lot of it had to do with things that happened at work but I can’t seem to remember all of what led to me just feeling blah by the end of the week.  Well one of the good things was I had a portrait shoot Friday.  So I was looking forward to getting out there and doing something I love and hopefully creating some good imagery.  Of course as is my norm the weather was all rainy and overcast when we started but luckily the sun started to peek through later on.

This was my second shoot with Michael.  Last time it was more laid back with him in a T-shirt but as he has been starting to do acting he wanted some more images for his portfolio.  After his last shoot he got some attention and landed a few gigs.  I would like to believe that my images helped him out some in that department.  Well this time we were in San Francisco, I love shooting there because there are just so many places to shoot and the city just has so much character and texture.

Well here are a few shots from the day.  Hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s and Presidents Day.  Oh yeah…Gung Hay Fat Choy…it is Chinese New Years too!!

  • Rain Rain Go Away | Connie & Wayne SF Engagement Preview

For some reason, lately every time I am out shooting something the weather has been gloomy and overcast. Well I was scheduled to shoot Connie & Wayne's E-Session but the weather report indicated that it was going to be raining...surprise surprise surprise. Well in the end we were pleasantly surprised by some very nice weather.

It was a fun afternoon hanging out with Connie & Wayne and running around San Francisco. The City is such a great place to shoot because there are just so many great places to shoot. There are iconic landmarks but there are also so many other places steeped in history and with wonderful texture. Seems like you can go out and find an new place each time you go out. So with that in mind we had no intention of shooting anything at the Palace of Fine Arts since that is one of those places that everyone takes pictures, especially things that are wedding related. But as we were winding down the day we happened to drive past the PoFA and combination of it being lit up and the sky just was too good to pass up. So yes we did shoot a couple of images there.

I will post more from their session later but I am trying to post more so figured I would toss up a couple first. Congratulations to Connie & Wayne. I am looking forward to sharing in their special day in a few months.

  • Kameisha & Emmanuel | Danville Engagement Session

    IMG_1848-Edit-Edit-Light b

The other week I finally got a chance to go out with Kameisha and Emmanuel. We were supposed to go out awhile back but the weather was so bad we canceled since I knew Kameisha would kill me since that was back when we had that super cold spell, and of course I had talked her into wearing a dress. Well needless to say I think she would have been very unhappy and probably would have brained me after we finished if not before. =P

They were coming in from the Stockton area so we were trying to think of some middle ground to meet but there are not a lot of spots between there and where I am in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. We decided to meet at Blackhawk Plaza in Danville. I must say I was not quite sure how that would work out but really it worked out quite well as there are just a bunch of little nooks and crannies to shoot in. Kameisha was great and had her super personality going full bore and Emmanuel was just a cool dude...although he looks great when he smiles too.

Here are a few shots from the day, Kameisha & Emmanuel were a lot of fun to work with. Thanks to Brian Lee who came out and helped me out with the shoot.

  • The Kim Family

The other week I got the chance to work with the Kim Family.  I can't even tell you how nice they were and I had such a great time working with them.  And their kids are just as cute as can be.  Funny because as I have shot a number of family sessions lately, it really contrasts how different it is from a wedding.  Mostly because with all the kiddies you can't expect to have that much control over the portraiture. But it is okay, just a lesson in life.  There are times when you need to really take control and create something and then there are times you just need to go with the flow.  Thanks to the Kim Family for letting spend some time with them and get to know their wonderful family.

Here are a few of the images from that day.

Grandma had to have some shots in their Traditional Korean Outfits.  Not always a favorite with the kiddies but I love it because they are just so colorful!

  • Michael | Headshots

Sorry that I have not been posting but I have had a run of things going on.  Between being sick, my youngest daugher not wanting to sleep, and my computer actually going down for awhile it has really been a challenge.  Well my last post was of Jordan who as I mentioned was working on some projects and trying to get some auditions.  Well I was glad to hear that after he posted one of my images of him he started to get a number of calls.

Well as it turns out after I gave Jordan some pictures of what we shot, he happened to show Michael who asked him where he got those.  So Jordan sent Michael my way and we set up a time to shoot.  We ended up out in Pt Richmond which is really a great little hidden gem of a place.  Well it was a great location and Michael was just an easy guy to shoot.  I think he just has this cool persona about him.  He seemed pretty happy after he saw what we got.  So it was great to hear that after he posted one of my images of him up he got a number of hits as well.  In fact, he told me he got a little spot on "Trauma", shot a Sprint ad, and mentioned that he shot a Nike ad the other day as well.  I am sure that it was mostly him that landed him those gigs but I like to think that maybe my images really helped to open some doors and give him a chance.

Well good luck to Michael and I expect to get some invites to those great parties when he hits the big time.  =)  Here are a few of the shots from that day.
